The top federal prosecutor in Kansas is warning Manhattan officials about a city judge who said she didn't believe that federal immigration agents should be in her courtroom waiting to arrest an illegal immigrant scheduled for a hearing.
Ryan Kriegshauser said that he had "deep" concerns about comments that Municipal Judge Sarah Barr directed toward to two plain-clothed agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement who were in her courtroom on Dec. 4, 2025.
Kriegshauser said it was "unfortunate" that Barr "improperly and unnecessarily injected political overtones into her courtroom proceedings, which should be apolitical."
