The Kansas Lottery has adopted rules clearing the way for it to start selling its products online, a move that a top lawmaker says circumvents the Legislature.
In early July, the Lottery Commission adopted rules that will put Kansas in line with about 12 other states with so-called iLotteries.
The rules have already been approved by the attorney general. The lottery is looking to start online sales by the end of the year.
It could generate between $10 million to $20 million a year in revenue.
