As Kansas emerges from tax season, tax collections for the current year are beating estimates by $175.9 million despite cutting taxes during the 2024 legislative session.
The Department of Revenue reported $8.9 billion in tax revenues through May for the current fiscal year that ends June 30.
The amount was 2%, or $175.9 million, above what had been forecasted by revenue estimators when they convened in April.
