Candidates are starting to emerge for the Senate seat that came open Monday when Republican J.R. Claeys of Salina took a job with President Donald Trump's administration.
The candidates are running for the position that will be selected by precinct committee people in Senate District 24, which covers Saline and Dickinson counties.
The candidates running for the seat include Rep. Scott Hill of Abilene and former Saline County Treasurer Jim Dubois of Salina.
