Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach has joined with 10 other states in a lawsuit against three of the world's largest institutional investors, accusing them of conspiring to artificially limit the energy market for coal through anti-competitive trade practices.

The lawsuit, led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, was characterized as one the country's most significant legal efforts targeting the use of environmental, social and governance principles in making investment decisions.
