The Kansas House on Wednesday unanimously approved a bill that would restructure the membership of the Kansas Prisoner Review Board after it paroled the murderer of a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper last year.
The bill expands the size of the board to five members and strips the power of the corrections secretary from appointing the panel. The board is now made up of three members.
The bill passed 33-7 in the Senate and is expected to be headed . . .
