A case of excessive police force stemming from a deadly chase involving a former Kansas Highway Patrol trooper may be taken up by the U.S. Supreme Court.

The high court is considering a request from Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach to decide whether evidence collected from the 3 1/2-minute pursuit that ended in the death of a woman should be suppressed because of excessive force.
