State Sen. Julia Lynn late Friday afternoon went to court to get her name removed from the general election ballot for Senate District 9.
Lynn filed a petition in Shawnee County District Court, asking a judge to direct the secretary of state to remove her name from the ballot.
Secretary of State Scott Schwab denied Lynn's request to pull her name from the ballot after she had cited a medical hardship.
