A broad range of groups representing agriculture, bankers, chambers of commerce and civil liberties advocates turned out in force Wednesday to oppose Republican Attorney General Kris Kobach's proposal banning foreign land ownership.
Kobach is renewing efforts from last year when he backed a bill that barred foreign adversaries from owning land in Kansas totaling 10 acres or more. A variation of the bill passed out of a Senate committee last year but died on the calendar because of inaction.
