Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin is planning a campaign fundraising stop in Kansas for Republican Attorney General Derek Schmidt, who is locked in what is starting to be seen as an increasingly tough battle against Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly.
Youngkin, who has aspirations to run for president, plans to attend a private fundraiser at the Indian Hills Country Club in Mission Hills on Sept. 22.
The Kansas stop is part of an itinerary that includes attending events on behalf of Republican candidates for governor in more than a half-dozen states.
Youngkin has already laid the groundwork for entering national politics . . .
