Carol Moreland is stepping down as the executive administrator of the Kansas Board of Nursing as the agency comes under intensifying pressure from the Legislature, which is moving toward passing legislation that would reform how the board operates.
The board announced that Moreland will be retiring from the agency April 10, following months of hearings held by a House government oversight committee that examined how the agency carried out enforcement actions against nurses.
She's worked for the board for 15 years, including the past nine as executive administrator.
