Pharmacy benefit manager reforms one step from legislative approval

The Kansas House on Monday approved a package of reforms intended to better regulate the middlemen who manage prescription drug benefits for insurers and employers, laying down a path that advocates say will reduce prescription drug costs.

The House voted 104-17 across party lines to pass a bill supporters say will hold down prescription drug prices, help independent pharmacies compete and address concerns about pharmacy benefit managers that a congressional report found used their position "to enact anticompetitive . . .
