Teen gubernatorial candidate fined


The Kansas ethics commission on Wednesday fined one of the teen gubernatorial candidates $5,000 for failing to file an amended campaign finance report for January.

The commission fined Jack Bergeson after he didn't show up for a hearing scheduled for Wednesday. The fine can be cut in half if he pays $2,500 and properly files the report within 30 days.

Bergeson was one of about half dozen teens who ran for governor last year, drawing national attention to the fact that  Kansas didn't . . .
