Supreme Court justice sets retirement date

Kansas Supreme Court Justice Marla Luckert will step down from the high court after 23 years on March 28, a decision that was announced earlier after she fell into ill health.

Luckert resigned as chief justice in December, about two months after she revealed that she suffered a stroke.

She remained as a justice on the court until early this year so she could finish her ongoing work. She didn't take on any new cases during that time.
