Happy holiday weekend everybody:

The news doesn't stop nor do I.

Brace yourselves for an intriguing political week. After we get past Labor Day, the general election campaigns will intensify.

The upcoming week features two gubernatorial debates, one in front of the Johnson County Bar Association on Wednesday and the second at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson.

We also are expecting to see Republican House candidate Alan Thomas from Olathe back in the news this week, but we'll dive into that later. So let's kick it off with this small storm over guns at the University . . .
