Good morning:

Well, last week was all about taxes as the Legislature races to pass a tax bill that would counter Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly's tax plan introduced before lawmakers had even gaveled in on the first day of the legislative session. It will be curious how fast Kelly vetoes the Republican tax plan and kicks it back for an override vote, which appears to be an uphill battle — at least in the Senate, where two Republicans and a conservative independent have sided with the governor. There was a smattering of other news as well, which we will get . . .
