State universities are reporting enrollment increase for the fourth consecutive year, but community and technical colleges saw student head count fall off this year,
The state’s universities, including the University of Kansas, Kansas State, Wichita State, Fort Hays State, Emporia State and Pittsburg State, saw their student head count increase by 0.7% - or just 673 students - for this fall compared to last year.
Overall, enrollment at state universities is up about 5.8% over the last five years, rising to 94,985 this year from 89,747 . . .
