Evergy's new global settlement in its rate case will allow the utility to seek a rate increase to power the new Panasonic plant under construction in De Soto.
An Evergy spokesperson said the company could file an abbreviated case seeking a rate hike to build the infrastructure needed for the plant within 12 months after an order is approved, possibly in December.
