The Senate on Tuesday morning voted to pass a compromise tax bill, closing down debate early and giving senators no chance to amend the bill before sending it to the House as Tuesday's special session got underway.
The Senate ended debate on a 22-16 vote, drawing complaints from some lawmakers that they didn't get a chance to fully debate the bill and that the maneuver cut out alternative ideas for the tax . . .
