Regents chair reveals cancer diagnosis

A little more than two hours into Wednesday's meeting of the Kansas Board of Regents, Chair Jon Rolph revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer.

Rolph didn't go into any details about the type of cancer or its seriousness, but thanked supporters for the many notes of encouragement he had received lately.

Rolph, appointed to the board by Gov. Laura Kelly, said he and Kansas State University President Richard Linton were diagnosed with cancer within the same 30-day window.
