Diagnosed with a brain tumor, Republican state Rep. Greg Lewis announced Monday morning he would leave the House because he can no longer serve his constituents.
Flanked by his wife of 40 years and his son Joshua, Lewis shared his battle with cancer as way of encouraging his colleagues in the chamber.
In a moving speech on the House floor, Lewis described how he became diagnosed with a level four brain tumor when he made an emergency hospital visit on Christmas Day during a trip to Kansas City to visit his son.
