The Legislature is sending a bill to the governor that would ban cellphones in public and accredited private schools, a measure that an advocate said may be one of the most restrictive in the country.
The House concurred with amendments to the bill made in the Senate and approved the legislation, which at one point had become bogged down in a debate over to what extent private schools should be covered.
