Republican state Rep. Tatum Lee has requested a recount in the GOP primary against Rep. Jim Minnix in House District 118 in a race she overwhelmingly lost.
The secretary of state's office confirmed that Lee, of Ness City, requested a hand recount in all nine counties that make up the western Kansas House district.
The recount surfaced from statewide chatter since the primary election about unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud and how Kansas elections are conducted.
