U.S. Rep. Jake LaTurner said Friday that any new water rule developed by President Joe Biden's administration needs to be rooted in a "reality" that works for Kansas ranchers and farmers.
"Where it needs to end up is a recognition of reality," LaTurner said after meeting with a group of agriculture producers Friday in Alma.
"The federal government regulating farmers and ranchers here in Kansas has been unworkable," the 2nd District Republican said.
"It has increased costs. It has hurt production," he said. "I'm hopeful that it will be closer aligned with what folks are actually dealing . . .
