Republican Attorney General Kris Kobach said Wednesday he plans to oppose an effort by five transgender Kansans to intervene in a lawsuit that seeks to block Gov. Laura Kelly's administration from allowing gender marker changes on driver's licenses.
"There are a number of reasons intervention wouldn't be appropriate," Kobach told reporters, adding that he would let his legal briefs speak to the issue.
