Republican Attorney General Kris Kobach and the governor's chief of staff are tangling over whether the U.S. Department of Agriculture is cutting off millions in food-assistance dollars because the state won't won't turn over personal information demanded by the agency.
Kobach on Monday morning emailed out a copy of a letter - dated Saturday - that USDA sent to Gov. Laura Kelly. The letter was signed by former Republican state Rep. Patrick Penn, now deputy undersecretary for Food, Nutrition, and Consumer . . .
