Kobach relives 2004 congressional primary more than a decade later

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach is no stranger to razor-thin elections.

In one of his earliest forays into politics, Kobach came up just 87 votes ahead of former fighter pilot Adam Taff in the 2004 Republican primary for the Kansas 3rd Congressional District seat.

And how did that work out? Kobach's margin of victory in that race only increased after the provisional ballots were counted.

After provisional ballots were counted across the 3rd District, Kobach extended his lead to 207 votes out of nearly 89,000 cast in that race.

Kobach finished that race with 39,129 . . .
