Kelly wants to reopen state, urges caution

Gov. Laura Kelly on Wednesday said she wants to reopen the state to free-flowing commerce but warned against racing too fast in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

Kelly said her administration is working on plans with other states such as Missouri and Colorado so Kansas can regain its economic footing.

But she warned that Kansas can't move too quickly as the virus continues threatening the health of Kansans.

"We're working very hard on that," she said. "We want to do it as soon as we can, but we want to make sure that we do it . . .
