Kelly: State inspectors won’t enforce federal health care vaccine mandate

Gov. Laura Kelly announced Tuesday that state inspectors would not enforce vaccine mandates at federally funded health care facilities, but the move will come with a price.

Kelly announced that the state reached an agreement with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services that state employees will not enforce vaccine mandates in facilities funded by the agency.

"I’ve consistently opposed federal COVID-19 vaccine requirements because the responsibility was given to the states to make these decisions,” Kelly said in a statement.

“Kansas employees should not be required to enforce a federal mandate this late in the pandemic," she . . .
