Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly and Republican challenger and Attorney General Derek Schmidt are set for three upcoming forums of varying formats where they will get to make their pitch to the voters.
The forums will not include conservative state Sen. Dennis Pyle because the independent candidate is not meeting the qualifications set by the organizations holding the events.
The first event is set for Sept. 7 at the Embassy Suites in Olathe for a "conversation" with the candidates, where each is interviewed individually on stage by Alan Cobb, the Kansas Chamber of Commerce's president and chief executive officer.
