Kelly plans new restrictions to resolve church lawsuit

Gov. Laura Kelly is developing new, more lenient restrictions for reopening the state that she says will settle the legal fight over her executive order limiting the size of religious gatherings.

The governor's lawyers filed a joint motion Saturday night with the lawyers for the two churches that challenged the executive order as unconstitutional.

The governor plans to issue new re-opening restrictions that will start May 4 and will not prohibit gatherings in which individuals can consistently maintain a 6-foot distance and follow other . . .
