Horn not seeking re-election to House

Democratic state Rep. Eileen Horn announced Friday that she would not seek re-election to the Kansas House this year.

Horn, who replaced John Wilson in the House in 2017, announced her decision to leave elected office on Facebook earlier Friday.

She is the second House Democrat to announce plans to leave the Legislature. Democratic state Rep. Nancy Lusk has already announced she would not seek re-election.

The son of Democratic state Sen. Tom Holland, Brandon Holland, has filed to run for the seat.

He is 31 and is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a degree . . .
