Kelly announces reelection at fundraiser

Gov. Laura Kelly told supporters at a fundraiser Thursday night that she plans to run for reelection, multiple sources said.

Kelly held an early evening virtual fundraiser sponsored by 55 different lobbyists, businesses and political insiders.

The fundraiser lasted about 30 minutes with about 100 people on the call.

Two sources said the governor specifically said she didn't name Commerce Secretary David Toland lieutenant governor so she could withdraw and he could run for governor.

Another source said she talked about education, expanding Medicaid and how she wants . . .
