Democratic state Rep. Marvin Robinson, who made a mark in the Legislature voting with Republicans on major issues, came up short in his reelection bid as Democratic challenger Wanda Brownlee Paige emerged victorious in a four-person field.

Paige, a member of the Kansas City School Board, led the field with 49% of the vote with all precincts counted by about 9 p.m., according to complete but unofficial results.
