The Kansas Senate on Thursday passed Gov. Laura Kelly's school finance plan in a move that lawmakers hope will satisfy a Supreme Court ruling to adequately fund public education.
The Senate voted 32-8 to approve the plan - with support from Democrats and Republicans - despite opposition from school district plaintiffs who are challenging education funding in court.
