Kansas Lottery sets new sales record

With entertainment choices limited during the pandemic, Kansans turned to lottery tickets in droves as the state set a record for ticket sales in 2021.

The Kansas Lottery set a record of $326 million in net sales for fiscal year 2021, the most at any point since the lottery started in 1988. The lottery had projected $290 million in sales for 2021.

Reflecting an overall national trend in lottery sales, the state recorded the most in net lottery ticket sales since it sold $295.2 million in 2019.
