Kansas has surpassed Iowa as the country's leader in the percentage of electricity generated by wind power, a new report shows.
The report by the American Wind Energy Association reveals that 36.4 percent of state's electricty comes from wind.
It puts the state just ahead of Iowa, which is at 33.7 percent. Iowa is followed by Oklahoma at 31.7 percent, North Dakota at 25.8 percent and South Dakota at 24.4 percent. Iowa had topped the list for the last six years.
