A Shawnee County judge has set aside a disciplinary action against one of the nurses who last year asked the Legislature to address concerns about the state's nursing board's heavy-handed enforcement of rules unrelated to patient safety.

District Judge Jay Befort agreed to a joint motion seeking to vacate the disciplinary action against Amy Siple, who challenged an order that concluded she unlawfully practiced nursing based on an investigation that started after she inadvertently let her nursing license lapse.
