House approves revived legislation banning in-state tuition for immigrants in U.S. illegally

A bill eliminating in-state tuition at higher education institutions for students who don’t live in the country legally cleared the House on Thursday morning.

The House voted 78-46 to approve a conference committee report that included the in-state tuition measure as part of a larger bill banning immigrants living in the country illegally from receiving most state or local benefits.
