The Kansas House has approved incentives to encourage law students to practice in rural Kansas in response to a shortage of attorneys in the more sparsely populated areas of the state.
The House voted 118-4 Thursday to approve the rural justice initiative that would provide a $3,000 stipend each year for law students who agree to practice in rural Kansas.
The bill also creates a loan repayment program up to $20,000 - not to exceed . . .
