Gov. Laura Kelly on Monday vetoed three bills passed by the Legislature, including a delay in property tax payments and the start of a low-interest loan program for business struggling financially during the coronavirus pandemic.

Kelly vetoed three of the seven bills that the Legislature passed after midnight in the early morning hours of May 22, including one that was aimed at assisting foster children.

She said in some cases the legislation would have hurt the state's budget during a time of financial crisis and would have hamstrung local governments . . .
