Former House Majority Leader Don Hineman, a leading moderate Republican in the Legislature, announced Monday that he's not seeking a seventh term in the Kansas House.
Hineman's decision not to run for reelection ends 30 years of public service, including 12 years in the Legislature and another 20 serving either on the Dighton City Council or the Lane County Commission.
"I look back on these years with pride and satisfaction for all the good we were able to accomplish but with deep regret for the worthwhile initiatives that have yet not become reality," Hineman wrote in a retirement . . .
