Gov. Laura Kelly on Monday named the director of the State Employee Health Benefits Program as the state's new health secretary.
Janet Stanek will serve in an acting role until the state Senate confirms her as the new head of the agency.
She had been director of the State Employee Health Benefits Program since last year.
She replaces Lee Norman, who left the agency a little more than a week ago.
