Former Supreme Court justice passes away after battle with ALS

Former Kansas Supreme Court Justice Evelyn Wilson died Saturday after resigning from the high court last year when she was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease. She was 66.

The court announced her death in a short statement from Chief Justice Eric Rosen.

"Justice Wilson was a deeply principled woman whose enduring faith and commitment to the law were evident in her work as an attorney, judge, and justice," Rosen said Saturday night.

"She was drawn to the law as a champion for people who needed help advocating for their rights, a trait that carried over to her . . .
