Former four-term House member, KBA president dies at 85

James Maag, a former four-term Kansas House member and president of the Kansas Bankers Association, died over the weekend. He was 85.

Maag, who had suffered from Parkinson's disease for several years, represented the Dodge City area from the 116th District in the Kansas House from 1969 to 1976.

He served as speaker pro tem in 1974.

Maag joined the Kansas Bankers Association in 1980, retiring in 2004 as the organization’s president and CEO.
