First COVID-19 cases reported at state hospital

State officials are reporting that three staffers and one resident at Parsons State Hospital have tested positive for COVID-19, the first cases confirmed at any of the four state hospitals.

The staffers are all women and over 25 years old. The resident has been moved to an on-grounds location being used as an isolation unit.

The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services and the hospital are working with state and local health officials about how to proceed.
