Ethics commission fines gubernatorial candidate

The Kansas Ethics Commission has fined Republican gubernatorial candidate Patrick Kucera $2,500 for failing to file a statement of substantial interests after last year's primary.

The commission last month issued an order fining Kucera, who ran as the "entrepreneurial evangelist" in the GOP primary against Jeff Colyer, Kris Kobach, Ken Selzer, Jim Barnett and two other candidates.
