Eight presidential candidates file for Kansas primary

Eight candidates - four Democrats and four Republicans - have filed to run in the Kansas presidential primary before the deadline lapsed on Friday.

President Joe Biden drew three lesser-known opponents in the March 19 primary: Minnesota Congressman Dean Phillips, 2020 presidential candidate and self-help book author Marianne Williamson and entrepreneur Jason Michael Palmer.

The Republican field is more high profile, led by former President Donald Trump fresh off his big win in Iowa.
