Double vote counting prompts recount in Kansas House race

Crawford County Election officials on Thursday morning started a hand recount of the House District 2 race where Republican Kenneth Collins appears to have upset Democratic incumbent Adam Lusker.

The county's Board of Canvassers asked for the recount after discovering that the results in five precincts were counted twice on Election Day. The county discovered the error and later corrected the vote count.

The county has hired Democratic state Rep. Vic Miller of Topeka  to advise county election officials during the proceeding.

County Clerk Don Pyle said in a brief interview that the data cards at the five polling . . .
