Senate confirms Kansas bank commissioner to Fed board

The U.S. Senate on Thursday confirmed Kansas Bank Commissioner Michelle Bowman to the Federal Reserve board.

The Senate voted 64-34 to confirm Bowman to a seat on the Board of Governors designated for someone with community banking experience.

A former aide to U.S. Sen Bob Dole, Bowman served as state bank commissioner since January 2017.

Bowman will continue working as state bank commissioner until Nov. 23 when she will be succeeded by deputy Bank Commissioner Tim Kemp . . .
